    What you’ll do

    As the Devops Lead - Azure at Eneco, you will be a driving force behind the Energy Transition by shaping cross-functional teams and fostering a robust engineering culture. You will lead the charge in defining technical direction, building scalable solutions and guiding your team to deliver measurable impact. Your key responsibilities include: 

    • Define & Communicate Technical Strategy: Establish the technical vision for tooling, platforms and technologies tailored to the needs of various Product Families across Eneco. 

    • Team Leadership: Lead and grow a squad of Platform Engineers, initially focused on the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Platform Team, with the opportunity to expand into other Product Families in the future. 

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers to align technical initiatives with business objectives and ensure seamless operations within and across teams. 

    • Mentorship & Growth: Provide guidance, mentorship and technical coaching to your team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. 

    • Platform Ownership: Take responsibility for the reliability, scalability and evolution of the underlying platform and infrastructure, ensuring it supports DevOps practices and the company's long-term growth. 

    • Recruitment & Team Development: Lead hiring efforts, conduct performance reviews and support the career growth of your team members to build a high-performing, motivated team. 

    Is this about you?

    We are looking for a leader who is passionate about technology, teamwork and making a tangible difference in the Energy Transition. You will thrive if you have: 

    • DevOps Expertise: Proven experience in DevOps practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps, CICD pipelines, Azure Cloud, Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ArgoCD, Helm and Grafana. 

    • Leadership Skills: Strong experience leading and mentoring technical teams, with a focus on delivering results, fostering collaboration and developing talent. 

    • Strategic Mindset: Ability to set and communicate a clear technical vision that aligns with business goals, while understanding the diverse needs of different Product Families. 

    • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and work effectively with Product Managers and other teams.

    You’ll be responsible for

    • Team Leadership: Managing and expanding a team of Cloud and Devops Engineers, as the team’s scope expands and transitions towards a Platform setup. 

    • Technical Strategy: Defining and executing technical strategies that support the goals and challenges of different Product Families across Eneco. 

    • Collaboration with Product Management: Working closely with Product Managers to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business needs, fostering a collaborative environment between teams. 

     

    Expected Impact & Deliverables: 

    • Drive Product Transformation: Lead the transition from project-based work to a product-centric approach, improving release processes, system monitoring and scalability. 

    • Optimize Tools & Processes: Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of DevOps practices and tools across the organization to support faster delivery and higher quality. 

    • Support Eneco’s Mission: Contribute to the internationalization, scaling and professionalization of VPP services, playing a key role in Eneco’s Energy Transition efforts. 

    This is where you’ll work

    You will be part of Eneco’s Chief Digital Office (CDO), an organization focused on accelerating the Energy Transition through agile, cross-functional teams and a strong engineering foundation. You will work closely with the VPP (Virtual Power Plant) Product Family, contributing to the future of the energy system. Our matrix structure ensures you have both the impact-oriented focus of Product Families and the technical excellence of Chapters and Squads.

    What we have to offer

    Gross annual salary between €91.000 and €140.000

    Including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on your role a bonus or collective profit sharing.
